NOTICE OF VACANCY IN OFFICE OF PARISH COUNCILLOR

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN

pursuant to Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 that

Elizabeth Black

formerly a member of Charvil parish council

has now ceased to be a member and that a casual vacancy exists in the office of councillor for the said Parish Ward.

 

A bye-election to fill the vacancy will be held if within 14 working days from the date below 10 electors from the parish give notice in writing to the Returning Officer, Electoral Services Office, Wokingham Borough Council, Civic Offices, Shute End, Wokingham of a request for an election to fill the vacancy.

 

If no such notice is given the Parish Council will fill the post by co-option.

Notice of the vacancy must be given by posting this notice in some conspicuous place or places within the area of the authority and in such other manner as appears to the authority to be desirable for giving publicity to the notice.  This must be done in a case where the local authority declare the office to be vacant, immediately after the declaration; and in any other case, as soon as practicable after the date on which the vacancy is deemed to have occurred.
