Council Nearly up to Full Srength

It has not been an easy time of it over the last few months of Lockdown.  The Government postponed elections, when some councillors were going to stand down, so they had to resign instead. This meant there were three vacancies.

We are pleased to announce that the Council recently co-opted Mike Heath and Hilary Jones. Both have children at local schools and are concerned to improve facilities in the village where they can, despite the challenges laid down by the Pandemic.

Hilary is a school teacher and her family are very involved in local activities, such as Scouts, football and guides.  Mike is recently retired so has a bit more time to invest in Council activities which is greatly welcomed.

The Council hopes to complete the co-option of Narinder Ryatt at the next Full Council meeting.  This will bring the Council up to full strength once again.

Even better, is that we have been able to appoint three new staff to bring the team up to full numbers, with the recruitment of a new caretaker and litter picker earlier in the year, and the recent appointment of a new Village Warden.
