Covid-19 outbreak – local Information

The Covid-19 situation is moving very rapidly and for the latest information about WBC’s response please visit our webpage on service updates here which is being updated more than once a day. We are also updating our Facebook page constantly.

 

Latest service updates:

 

Register Office

Birth registration and declaration appointments are currently deferred. Customers can now make a claim for child benefit or universal credit prior to the birth being registered, where they have not been able to do so before.

The copy certificate printing service is still continuing. Express (next day) replacement certificate service has stopped, but standard 14 day service is still available.

Weddings and civil partnerships at the Register Office are suspended until further notice. We are getting in touch with all current bookings to arrange for alternative dates or to put them on hold until the situation improves.

Appointment for notice of marriage or civil partnerships have also stopped until further notice.

Citizenship ceremonies are also cancelled until further notice. The current three month time limit on attending a ceremony has just been extended to six months.

EUSS appointments are cancelled but applicants can get help on the Gov UK website page.    

 

Country Parks

Our country parks will open this weekend but their car parks are closed, as are our play areas, cafes and fishing. We will be monitoring social distancing and, if necessary will close parks if it is not being maintained.

The Community Hub (joint work with all towns and parish councils and the community/voluntary sector

The Wokingham Borough Community Hub has moved to St Crispin’s Leisure Centre, London Road, Wokingham.

The community hub is providing food parcels, toiletries and other essentials to anyone in the borough who is vulnerable, isolated or elderly, and to families in need.

Thanks to our support and the number of volunteers the hub will be open seven days a week from Monday March 30
