Message of Condolence for HRH The Duke of Edinburgh

Charvil Parish Council today joins the rest of the country in mourning following the death of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh.

Charvil Parish Council Chairman, Jim Gillett, said: On behalf of the residents of Charvil and the officers and members of the Parish Council, I would like to express my deepest sorrow at the death of the Duke of Edinburgh who has been consort (companion to Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II) for over 60 years.

In 2009 he became the longest serving British consort and in addition to playing a prominent role in accompanying The Queen, he was also patron or president of several organisations and created The Duke of Edinburgh Award in 1956 which continues to recognise the achievements of young people.

If anyone would like to share a message of sympathy during this time of Covid-19 restrictions, please sign the e-book of condolence at Buckingham Palace at www.royal.gov.uk

Unfortunately, laying flowers is to be discouraged due to the Covid restrictions.
