Since its opening in May 1988 the Charvil Village Hall has continued to serve the community and residents of Charvil and the surrounding areas as a superb venue for both social and recreational events, ranging from the many clubs who use the hall on a regular basis, annual events such as the Village fete, through to administrative functions such as Parish Council and Local Amenities Management meetings.

The village hall is used regularly by over 30 clubs and groups. To see a list of the clubs who use the hall on a regular basis click on the link at the top of the page. Additionally, the hall is used for private parties, weddings and other occasional social events.

Facilities

The hall is continually maintained, cleaned and improved, and provides excellent facilities for groups ranging up to 200 in number (150 if closely seated).

The building comprises:

  • a main hall (9m x 17m), it possible to accommodate a bouncy castle up to 14ft high
  • a smaller room (6.30m x 3.70m) (known as the committee room),
  • a fully fitted kitchen with cooker, fridge and hot water urns, plus cutlery and crockery.
  • 47 car park spaces plus 2 spaces for disabled.
  • Tables 10 small 76cm by 91cm height 70cm and 23 large tables 76.5cm by 182.5 cm height 76cm

Additionally, there are WCs for both male and female, together with a dedicated disabled WC. There is also ample well-lit parking at the hall.

How the hall is funded

The target is always for the hall to be self-funded, based on the revenue generated by the various clubs and other users. In the event of a short-fall, the deficit is made up by the Parish Council.
