Plans for 75 more homes to be built in Charvil

We have recently been approached by Hicks Developments, informing us that they plan to submit an outline planning application for 75 homes on the rest of the field west of Park Lane. The site has been included in the last two versions of the Draft Local Plan, but the housing numbers were reduced from 75 to 61 after the first round of consultations.

We know that many residents will be dismayed by this turn of events, and have explained this to the developers, that there will be substantial local opposition, particularly to the failure to respect the lower housing number in the second draft of the Local Plan.

We have met with the leader of the Borough Council and will continue to liaise with both the developer and the Borough, to keep abreast of the current thinking at the Borough Council, and to try to get the best outcome for the village.

We hope to hold a residents’ meeting at the appropriate time in the next few weeks. This will be advertised via our social media, website and Village Noticeboards.
